touching the lions

Chen Rui walks up stairs normally, but when walking down she still walks like a toddler. Each step of the staircase takes too steps. She puts down her right foot first, and then she puts her left foot onto the same staircase step next to her right foot. I asked her about it and she explained that she was afraid of falling.

15 Jan 2012.

The children has been napping much since coming back to KK, and they nap for a long time. I think it's partly because we had to wake up very early for the flight at about 4am. But I guess it's good that they nap. It's funny they seem to suffer from jetlag after coming back to KK.

Both the children enjoyed watching lion dances. We were able to watch lion, dragon and unicorn (?) (麒麟) dances. Chen Rui was especially enthusiastic. She went up to the lions to touch them many times. She was a little afraid of them, but not afraid enough to stop her from playing with them. When watching the lion dance from afar, she rocked her body to the rhythm of the drum, gong and cymbals. It was funny to watch her do that. I have never seen anyone dance to the lion dance beat.
