Sailing With My Friends is the new song that Shee Yun is composing now. This morning when she played Spring Song 2, I used my iPhone to record it. I did it without telling her, so that I wouldn't interrupt her, and she won't feel nervous because of being recorded. I only started recording halfway through, so it was an incomplete recording. Later when I played it for her, she asked me to record it again, this time the full song. She didn't feel nervous at all and just played the whole thing all over again while I recorded. I shouldn't have assumed an adult mentality in her. In fact she was excited about the recording ability of the iPhone, which she hadn't known about.
She said to me that now that the song was recorded, she can play it for Teacher Chong at the next lesson. I suspect to her the song is just a general feeling and some sets of sequences, as opposed to a structured song that is written down neatly on a musical score. I think the song will vary every time she plays it. I certainly couldn't make out any structure to it, only some familiar recurring passages here and there.
Spring Song 2. This is the shorter, half-a-song version. Turn the volume up so that you don't miss anything.
